Why does my 2019 state tax refund still show up in my income even though TurboTax determined it was not taxable?

I just completed the income portion of TurboTax and it still shows as income.

Where?  If you are looking at an income summary screen or review screen those show the full amount as income and lump a lot of stuff together. You need to check the actual 1040 form and make sure it’s right.

Check Schedule 1 line 1 to make sure its not taxable.

Is the state tax refund amount shown on Schedule 1 Line 1?  If not, then it was not added to your income on the Form 1040 Line 8

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
