My RMD payment did not go through, and I am just realizing this now. So, I did not receive a 1099-R. It's an inherited IRA so my broker doesn't give me any information on it. I am taking 2025 and 2026 RMDs immediately (early March 2026) and plan to apply for a waiver, but I can't get TT to generate the proper forms.
What should I do?

If you have no Forms 1099-R to trigger TurboTax to ask about RMDs, it's almost impossible to get TurboTax to prepare Form 5329 Part IX. If you are using the desktop version of TurboTax, you could make the entries in forms mode and after doing so avoid going to the 1099-R section in step-by-step mode where TurboTax might erase your forms-mode entries. Otherwise, you might consider e-filing your tax return without a report of the late-taken RMD, then reporting the missed RMD by preparing and filing Form 5329 stand-alone with the request for waiver. The distribution itself is reportable on your 2026 tax return.
IRS is not going to audit you.
Just report the total of the two distributions on your 2026 tax return.
