What is a Credit for Retirement Savings Contributions

Question: Have I had any distributions from a retirement plan after 2013 and before the due date of your 2016 return? I'm not sure what this mean?

The question asks if you took any money from your 401K, your IRAs or other retirement accounts you may have between 2014 and April 18, 2017 (since the due date of 216 tax return falls into 2017, we ask if you plan to take any money out).
