The amount I received is less than value stated on 1099R How do I amend what I actually received

More information would be needed to know why your "received distribution" was less than what is reported on your Form 1099-R.   Have you talked to the people who prepared your 1099-R?   Was there any Federal withholding shown on the 1099-R (such as Box 4) that you need to report?  Or any state withholding (Box 14?)
