Why is Turbo Tax taxing my Retirement income (TIAA withdrawal - age 59 1/2 eligible) from the State of Kansas, which is not supposed to be subject to State income tax?

This income is not subject to Kansas State Income tax, but Turbo Tax is clearly considering this entire amount as taxable. How can this be resolved?

What did you check on the screen following the 1099-R entry.  If you had checked KPERS or other qualified public pension. it would not have been taxable .
