Only the information from the Form 1099-S is entered on your tax return based on what was sold, the actual form 1099-S is not required to be entered on a return.

The government acquired a small portion of land from me to build a bridge. They sent me a 1099S for the payment they paid me for the land.  Where d o I enter the transaction in turbo tax?

To enter an investment sale -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Under Investment Income
On Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other, click the start or update button
