What are the details on the new deduction for contributions up to $2,000 without itemizing?

What are the details on the new deduction for contributions up to $2,000 without itemizing?

That goes into effect for next year when you file a 2026 tax return--not for 2025.   For 2025, charity donations go on Schedule A along with mortgage interest, property tax etc.  If your itemized deductions do not exceed your standard deduction for 2025, the charity donation has no effect.
