We filed taxes on 2/3/18 rec'd a deposit in our savings on 2/12 that did not say IRS or NYs and was not the amount we expected. Can you explain it to me
We can't call you but you can call in.
Green Dot/SBTPG is the company that processes the refund transfer. This deposit will be your federal (IRS) refund, minus your Turbotax fees and the extra fee for refund processing. It does NOT include your state refund, which is paid separately by your state, according to their own separate schedule.
If the difference from your expected federal refund is more than your processing and transfer fees, the IRS might have reduced your refund or you might have an offset. Check the refund amount at the IRS where's my refund web site.
