Better make sure you set up the joint return correctly.   Every income screen should have spots for each spouse with your names by them if you set it up right.

Check in My Info---it asks if you were married--say yes.   Next question is Do you want to file together with your spouse?   You need to say YES.  Then the screens will give you spots with each spouse's name when needed.

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

It won't ask for his social security individually.  To enter his information:

  1. Log into turbo tax
  2. Go to federal>income and expenses
  3. Retirement plans and Social Security>show more
  4. Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099)>start
  5. When you arrive at the page where you record the amounts of the SSA, there will two columns showing your name and his name, record the amount under his name
