Maybe the selection is now combined/or same as the one you can select just above those?
@Opus 17 I think you work with NY software...what do you see for that follow-up question after a 1099-R entry?
I'm not in NY any more. I will eventually do my Dad's return, but not for a couple of months. I can't recall now whether the NY adjustment for city/state employee retirement benefits is in the federal or NY interview. I can check Dad's 2024 return when I get home, but I'm not going to look at 2025 for a while.
See this discussion and the answer at the very bottom. Did you leave your 1099-R box 16 State Distribution blank? It should have the distribution dollar amount from box 1.
@SteamTrain Not sure. Itlooks like it could be combined, but the distribution choices that were all there last year are still there, but without the choice to check some of them.
I really don't know NY retirement details.
But...sometimes, a bunch of what were individual selections...they all resulted in the same state pension deduction...so they (TTX software folks) might have decided to include them all under one selection this year.
But that's just my guess....
SteamTrain is correct. "New York State and City Education" has been combined with other retirement plans with a single radio button (circle) to select that source of retirement benefits. See the screen shot below:

This is how my screen looks, even after applying all updates, Feb 14 2026. I am using TurboTax Deluxe for Mac. Notice how the button is off center to the line "Certain public authorities." I guess I have to hope for the best, that they're not going to fix this quirky situation in this version of Turbotax.
The button that is checked there applies to all 6 types on retirement income under the heading "Retirement distributions from:", starting with "US Government (including military)" through "Other Pensions of New York State and Local Governments".
