Here is the good news: You do not need Form 5498 to file your taxes.

Since you don’t have the physical form, you shouldn't be looking for a place to "upload" it or "import" it. Instead, you just need to enter the dollar amount you contributed.

  1. Find your own records: Look at your bank or brokerage statements (Fidelity, Vanguard, Robinhood, etc.) from the past year. Find the total amount you deposited into your Traditional IRA.
  2. Look for "Deductions & Credits": In your tax software, navigate to the section labeled "Retirement and Investments" or "Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions."
  3. Answer "Yes" to contributing: When the system asks "Did you contribute to a Traditional IRA?", say Yes.
  4. Enter the amount manually: The software will ask how much you contributed. Enter the total from your bank records.
  5. Skip the 5498 screen: If the software specifically asks you to "Enter details from Form 5498," look for a button that says "I'll enter this myself" or "Skip." As long as you provide the contribution amount, the software has what it needs to calculate your deduction.

if this is the question about market value of IRA as of 12/31/25 which does on Form 8606 Line 6 the guidance from IRS is to use your month-end brokerage statements not Form 5498 which is not typically available until May.  The on-screen guidance from Turbotax is misleading on this.
