Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Unable to properly convey Backdoor Roth (After Tax) contributions in TurboTax. My after tax contributions are correctly deducted but not my spouse contributions.

It says My spouse can't deduct contributions to a traditional IRA if I am covered by a retirement plan at work and because of MAGI. Does not explain why we have to pay taxes again on an after tax investment. Appreciate any help.

A "backdoor Roth" is a conversion of *non-deductible* Traditional IRA contributions otherwise it is not a backdoor Roth.
