The unemployment income is deductible from your taxable income, that includes your family leave income. This is the way it is to be treated as per IRS regulations, why don't you want it excluded?
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I could not find any information indicating that the $10,200 exclusion applies to Family Leave Income (FLI). That was the reason I thought that the exclusion is to be applied strictly to unemployment income. Just to clarify, the FLI was received in 2020 due to the birth of a child. Would you be so kind to point me to the IRS guidance indicating that the $10,200 exclusion applies to the FLI as well?
Again, thank you for your help.
