What is making you think TT is charging you for SS? What are you seeing and where? If your employer does not deduct SS from your paychecks, TT does not do it. Social Security withheld is entered from your W-2 Box 4 If it is not on your W-2--then the software does not "add" it to your tax liability.

Social Security taxes withheld from wages reported on a W-2 in box 4 are not entered anywhere on a federal tax return. Unless you have two or more employers and the total of all SS taxes withheld is greater than $8,239.80. Then the excess SS taxes withheld is entered on a federal tax return, as a Tax Payment only.
Or are you referring to Social Security benefits received on a Form SSA-1099?
The SS benefits can be taxable if you are reporting other income on your tax return.

Did you enter a 1099Misc for something? That could create self employment tax (Social Security & Medicare).
