TT is asking if the "IRA/SIMPLE/SEP box is checked" on my 1099-R. "IRA/SIMPLE/SEP" is typed in Box 7 Distribution Code(s) but there is no box to check next to it.

Is your account an IRA?
if so, say yes to check the box.

The IRA box is a separate box on the 1099R between boxes 7&8.  It would have an X typed in it if it is checked.
