DO NOT file your tax return yet.

The penalty for Covid-related distributions can be eliminated, but not until the special tax form for doing that has been released by the IRS  (Form 8915-E).

When the IRS releases that form, the tax software will include a section in the interview for you to complete the form and eliminate the penalty.

When???  unknown, but expected sometime in February.  Just work on completing everything else, and check back on fridays to see if the form is available (software updates happen on Wed or Thurs evenings)
