Although it is unusual, it is possible to have taxes withheld from Social Security. If you have your 2017 tax return, find the Social Security Benefits Worksheet. It will show any Federal tax withheld on line B. This will reflect what was posted to your tax return.

Where do you see that "credit" - what form and line?
There is a SSA-1099 for Social Security and a 1099-R for retirement income, but no such form as a SSA 1099R.
