I worked all my life in MN and retired with a PERA pension. I have now relocated to AZ for health reasons and can no longer have state of MN taxes withheld. What do I do for state income tax for AZ. MN pera does not allow AZ state income tax to be withheld from my pension earnings. What do I do?

You pay income tax to the state you live in. You do not mention when you moved to AZ. If you moved at some time during 2025, you need to prepare part year returns for each of those states. Going forward, if you live in AZ now, you will only pay AZ state tax.

ALLOCATE PART YEAR
It depends. You should have the MN Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) stop withholding MN state tax, even though the will not withhold Arizona (AZ).

If your retirement income will be less than the amount above for your filing status in 2026, you can pay your tax balance due when you file your tax return in 2027.
If you choose to file estimated tax payment you can select it in TurboTax or use the link below to estimate and pay your AZ for 2026:
As indicated by xmasbaby0, you will need to complete both the Minnesota (MN) and Arizona (AZ) tax returns for 2025 assuming you did live in MN for part of the year.
