Since you have already filed, you will need to wait until the original is processed including any refunds issued.
You had another post earlier where I replied why it may not be taxable so I am assuming that you determined it is taxable. Therefore, you need to file the amended return. I can't come up with any reason why the program would not have calculated a taxable amount. If you are using the online version, maybe some data got stuck. In which case, you may open your return to do the amended and the data is unstuck. Be sure to save a copy of your return right away showing your return the way you filed it.
@slyhobbs You don't need to amend for that. The IRS has been adjusting returns for the missing taxable amount of SS on 1040/1040SR line 6b and reducing your refund or sending you a bill. That's been a common error this year. It's due to skipping the next screen about if you lived in a Foreign Country or answering it wrong.
That's why it's important and good before you file to check your return line by line with last year and you might have seen that the taxable Social Security on line 6b was missing if it was taxable before. Then you could have questioned it.
