Since I cannot deduct IRA contributions,I have no earned income, do I need to have it refunded ?

Since I cannot deduct IRA contributions,I have no earned income, do I need to have it refunded ?

If you had no earned income in 2017 to support an IRA contribution for 2017, you must contact the IRA custodian and request a "return of contribution" (not a regular distribution) of the excess contribution, otherwise you'll owe an excess-contribution penalty every year until the excess is corrected.
