Should I file an illinois return for a 1099r that was issued even if I did not live in illinois in 2018
I forgot to change the address on one pension plan for 2018 and the pension used an illiinois address and paid taxes to illinois.
I have lived and received pension payment from a different company and social security in California for 2018.
do I file an illinois tax return for the single 1099?

If you were not living in Illinois, the pension you receive is not taxable by the state of Illinois. Since Illinois taxes were withheld, you would need to file a non-resident illinois tax return to get those taxes refunded to you.
