Have you received a Social Security SSA-1099 reporting your Social Security benefits received during 2025?  If you have, is the cost of living adjustment not reported on the SSA-1099?  If the cost of living adjustment is not reported on a SSA-1099, where is it reported?  Please clarify.

In TurboTax Online, report your Social Security benefits by following these steps:

  • Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
  • Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & Income.
  • Scroll down to Retirement plans and Social Security, click the down arrow to the right.
  • Click on Start/Revisit to the right of Social Security (SSA-1099).
  • At the screen Tell us about the benefits you received, enter the information as it is printed on the form.

Please explain more.   Are you asking about the Cost of Living Adjustment letter they sent out in November/December for the new benefit and medicare amounts you will get for the next year 2026?

And you get a SSA-1099 from Social Security, not a 1099R.
