I am retired and took Roth IRA and traditional IRA distributions from the same institution. They both appear on the same 1099-R form, but in TurboTax I can only enter one kind of distribution. How do I enter both distributions so that my traditional IRA distribution is taxed but my Roth IRA distribution is not taxed?

I recommend reporting 2 separate 1099-Rs from the one you have. This will allow you to indicate the different types of distributions you received, while still reporting the total withdrawal.
MindyB is correct. Even though these are on the same sheet, they are separate Forms 1099-R with different distribution codes.
