RMD from an inherited Roth IRA. Original owner opened it over 5 years before death (born 1950). TurboTax is treating this RMD as taxable—how do I fix this?

I took the total RMD. When I enter this number in my worksheet, TT treats as taxable income.

Even though box 2a of the Form 1099-R provided by the payer is blank, enter a zero in box 2a.  Also, when TurboTax asks, "Do any of these situations apply," make sure to mark the box to indicate that you inherited this IRA.

TurboTax will treat this as nontaxable income by including it on Form 1040 line 4a but excluding it from line 4b.

(With the box marked to indicate that you inherited this IRA, TurboTax generally asks for the taxable amount and places your response into box 2a of TurboTax's form, so entering a zero in box 2a yourself simply does this proactively.)
