I have been using online Premier edition for several years now. Which desktop edition should I install and is there any charge for that? Will I also be able to get previous years' summaries?
Thanks!
The TurboTax desktop software and the TurboTax online edition are separate programs with different price points.
You have to purchase the TurboTax desktop editions either as a CD or a Download to install on your personal computer. All the TurboTax desktop editions include the same forms, schedules and worksheets. You receive more help and guidance with the higher editions - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/
Using the desktop editions you can create, complete and file as many tax returns as needed. You receive one free state program download included in the purchase price (except the Basic edition). You receive 5 free federal tax return e-files included. Any further tax returns will have to be printed and mailed.
There is an e-file charge that is currently $20 to e-file a state tax return. This price normally increases to $25 on March 1. This e-file charge can be avoided by printing and mailing the state tax return.
Using the desktop editions you have direct access to all forms, schedules and worksheets through Forms mode.
If you have investments, rental/royalty property the Premier edition is recommended but is not required.

TurboTax minimum system requirements for Mac - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/system-requirements/help/minimum-system-requirements-for-turbotax-...
Using the desktop editions click on Forms. In Forms mode click on Return Summary on the left side of the screen (near the bottom of the federal forms list). Or the Tax History Report.

I am disappointed to hear you have to pay extra to get that summary. It was a nice doc so I hope this feature will be added to online version at some point.
I guess it is what it is.
Thank you!

The summary is included in both the online editions and the desktop editions.
You can download a PDF of your prior year online tax returns and the summary page will be included.
To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
