Should non-taxable interest be showing up as income in form 8582 (MAGI) when it is showing in 1040 as income? Is this a bug in TTP-2019?

Yes, non-taxable interest is used to figure your MAGI for the purposes of Form 8582, as per the IRS instructions. 

 

See the line instructions for line 7 and the caution statement below it.

Please explain further. The non-taxable interest should be included in figuring the line 7 amount. How is that a bug?
