My form is asking for OPM 1099-R state distribution amount (box 16). What is this, my 1099-R does not have a box 16?

State distribution is usually the same as federal distribution on a form 1099-R. You can put there amount form the box 1.

Seems like maybe someone should fix this if it has been happening since 2021.  There is no box 16 on the OPM 1099R!

From the way your'e describing this OPM 1099R, it sounds like you are describing a 1099CSA which is the same thing, a government related annuity distribution. On these forms, there is no Box 16.When you go into the Turbotax program,

1-Enter in the search bar 1099R 

2- Then hit Jump to 1099R

3- On the next page, select CSA- 1099R  Civil Service Annuity

4- As you go through the next couple of screens, there won't be a Box 16 to enter anything in there.
