Turbo tax show $19931 taxable income and $14795 as non taxable. Yet total income reported as34725.60

Pls advise why our sss benefits are added to taxable income?Other income total $43026.00

Up to 85% of Social Security Retirement/Disability/Survivors benefits becomes taxable when all your other income plus 1/2 your social security reaches:

  • Married Filing Jointly - $32,000
  • Single or Head of Household - $25,000
  • Married Filing Separately - 0

Pls advise why our sss benefits are added to taxable income?Other income total $43026.00

If you are looking at a summary screen or review screen those show the full amount as income and lump a lot of stuff together. Don't go by that.  You need to check the actual 1040 form and make sure it's right.  SS is on 1040 line 20a total and taxable amount on 20b.
