Pension reported on 1040 4b added to income. Line 11 indicates tax owed on AGI including pension income. Line 14 other taxes, which is tax on pension = double tax. Why?

I contacted the Plan Administrator and they said:

"I have checked with our Tax Unit and TIAA will change the distribution codes from “1” to “2.” I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Please allow 7-10 business days to receive these documents. "

I received return and credited in my bank account but I received 2023 supplemental tax report statement from Merril. What action I need to take
