What if we don’t file because AGI is extremely low?

You might still need to file even if your AGI is lower than the Standard Deduction. Depends on the kind of income you get or you might need to file to get back any withholding taken out. Or you might qualify for a refundable credit. Etc.

If your income is below the limits indicated in this TurboTax Help article, you aren't required to file a tax return.
