The IRS is allowing a charity deduction up to $300 calculated in addition to your standard deduction. If you are itemizing, that box would be blank. Are you taking the standard or itemizing?
Turbo Tax suggests standard deduction, which I did. The error checking says line 10.b should be blank, but the form says it should be $300 if taking the standard deduction. and that is what the program plugged in. It appears the error check is flagging it erroneously.
In reviewing again, I see that TurboTax changed from standard deduction to itemized deductions after I entered my medical information, but didn't remove the $300. I blanked it out and all is well now.
