Is earned income with everything taken out such as texts Medicare and social security or is it before everything is taken out.

Is it saying you don’t have earned income for something or not enough?  Be sure enter each W2 under the right spouse.

On a Form W-2, it's generally what's shown in box 1 -- your wages before any deductions have been made.
