You do NOT enter a dependents Social Security benefits on your tax return. If the SS benefits are the only income that he receives then he does not have to file a tax return.
No, your son is not required to file a tax return at these levels of income.
However, if he has taxes withheld, he can file a tax return to claim a refund of these taxes withheld.
