My only source of income is social security, I will receive no refund nor do I owe any taxes, so do I have to file federal and state forms and pay the e-filing fee?

I do not have any taxes taken out of my social security checks, so do I have to file tax forms?

No.  If you only get ssi or SS or SSDI it is not taxable and you do not have to file a return.  Unless you need yo file to get the 3rd Stimulus payment for $1,400 or the Child Tax Credit.

Or if you had marketplace health insurance and received a 1095A.
