My only income is a tax exempt pension so I don't file. But I have a lot of out of pocket medical expenses. Can I file in order to itemize and deduct medical them?

There is no benefit to filing a zero income return to deduct anything ... your income is already at zero so deductions mean nothing ... this is a waste of time and effort.

The Dr orders my Husband on a specialized diet because of his MS and he is pre-diabetic. Is the cost of food medically ordered, a deduction under medical expenses?
