My IRA, 401(k), pension withdrawal section continues to say "needs review" even though I have completed the information correctly. Is there something else I need to do?

I did not withdrawal anything but it is not letting me uncheck it at the end of my federal review.

Can you clarify the statements, "I did not withdrawal anything" and "I have completed the information correctly."

Did you have a 1099-R? What did you enter as information if you didn't withdraw anything?

No I do not have a 1099-R. I did not participate in the qualified disaster withdraw. Yet, the tab for review for a 1099-R is present but I continue to say “no” to withdrawal or participation in the withdrawal for qualified disaster. and in the review section, it is still checked in the box. I unclick it, say continue, and go back and it is clicked again.

Can you try to delete the form.

Here's the general procedure for viewing the forms list and deleting unwanted forms, schedules, and worksheets in TurboTax Online:

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  4. Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.

I tried deleting that form and still no luck. I guess I should just reset the whole program and start over? I’ve already paid for the filing via e-file and they have already charged me. Will I be charged again if I start over?

In the Federal 1040 tax return, are you able to access the disaster distribution question at:

  • Go to Federal / Wages & Income.
  • Scroll down to Wrap up income.
  • Continue.
  • At the screen Did you take a disaster distribution at any time between 2018 and 2020? answer No.

Now watch the headings under Federal closely.

  • When you are in Deductions & Credits
  • Scroll down and click on Wrap up tax breaks.
  • Then you are in Other Tax Situations.
  • Scroll down and click on Let's keep going.
  • Continue through to Federal Review.

Does that help?

I'm receiving the same issue. I also tried to uncheck the box in "Federal Review" but it still says I have items to review. Turbotax, can you help?

My IRA, 401(k), pension withdrawal section continues to say "needs review" even though I have completed the information correctly. Is there something else I need to do?

Perhaps.  It seems to help to sequence completely through each of the Federal sections.

If you did not take a disaster distribution from your pension funds between 2018 and 2020, there may be a question that needs to be reviewed.  Follow these steps.

  • Go to Federal / Wages & Income.
  • Scroll down to Wrap up income.
  • Continue.
  • At the screen Did you take a disaster distribution at any time between 2018 and 2020? answer No.

  • Then you are in Other Tax Situations.
  • Scroll down and click on Let's keep going.
  • Continue through to Federal Review

Or did you take a disaster distribution from your pension funds between 2018 and 2020? A disaster distribution allowed you to spread the distribution over three 1040 tax returns.

If so, IRS Form 8915 will be needed to complete your tax return but that form is not yet available.  See this TurboTax Help.
