My husband receives social security. he does not get taxed out. how do we file?

Enter the 1099-SSA into TurboTax anyway.  The program will determine if the benefits are not taxable due to your other income reported.  I'm assuming you are filing as Married Filing Jointly.

  1. Type 1099-ssa in the search box - you must be logged in and IN your tax return (see pic)
  2. Select Jump to 1099-ssa blue link and follow the interview questions

Enter the 1099-SSA into TurboTax anyway.  The program will determine if the benefits are not taxable due to your other income reported.  I'm assuming you are filing as Married Filing Jointly.
