My husband is a disabled veteran and receives SSI as well as VA benefits; do we pay taxes on the SSI? We did receive a SSA 1099

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are not taxable. 

However, the fact that you received an SSA-1099 makes me question if he is not receiving another type of benefit which would be taxable.  If the payments are NOT SSI, they would possibly be taxable.  Please see the link below.
