My employer used one 401k plan for calendar year 2017. At the beginning of 2018, they went to a different 401k plan. Do I add the amounts I contributed to both plans?

Did you contribute to these plans through your employer? That is, is there an amount code D in box 12 on your W-2.

The amount with code D on your 2017 W-2 is the amount that you contributed through your employer to the 401(k) plan (whichever one it was) in 2017. You will use the amounts contributed in 2018 when doing your 2018 tax return next year.

Note that if you have the amount with code D on your W-2, you don't have to enter this anywhere else in TurboTax - you have already completed it when you entered your W-2.
