My 8yo son got a $1200 stimulus payment. It was deposited into my account, in his name--an error related to social security. Do I include that in the amount on my taxes?

The mistake only happened for the first round of stimulus payments. His father claimed him on 2019 taxes, so I didn't receive the $500 or $600 dependent stimulus for him-- I'm guessing his father did, but I'm not completely sure.

When it asks me how much I received for the first round, do I put the amount I got in my own name? Or do I also include the $1200 that was deposited separately two weeks later, in my son's name? I just want to do it correctly to avoid delays.

You would only include stimulus payments that are for your social security number.  You only need to input the amount of your stimulus payments when asked about them in the "Federal Review" interview section.

It sounds like that payment is a mistake and should be returned to the IRS.  It would not be reported as your payment.
