My 1099R does not contain a Box 16. Yet TurboTax is asking me to enter state distribution amount for Box 16. Any suggestions????

If box 16 is blank on your 1099R you leave it blank in TT.

If you have state taxes withheld in box 14 of the Form 1099-R and a state payer's number in box 15, then enter the amount from box 1 in box 16.

If there are not state taxes withheld in box 14, then leave boxes 14,15 and 16 blank (empty)
