My 1099-R is from 401K . I'm retired why are you asking about the bank?

I think it is asking you which bank or plan administrator sent you the payments, so that the TT program can pull the 1099-R directly from them.

Are you trying to enter a 1099? 

Don't enter the bank or broker name and don't try to import it.  It is just as fast and easy to manually enter it.  At the bottom pick -  Change How I enter my Form

Then on the next screen pick I'll Type it in Myself
