Maryland does not tax Social Security benefits.   Did you enter your SSA1099 in the wrong place in your federal return?  Better check:

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

The Maryland House Bill that proposes this change has not become law.  It gets introduced every year and dies in committee:

The only thing that has changed between 2024 and 2025 is that the maximum allowable Social Security benefit has increased from $39,500 to $41,200.  Otherwise, the calculation is exactly the same.
