Its asking for the state when i click box 15 and scroll down theres no Tennessee state in the box. i guess i just leave select state on my filing form?

lines 16-20 are blank on my w-2. this is for the state taxes section

Correct, you leave all those boxes blank (or leave it on the "Select" setting).

Same thing goes for any state without an income tax.

Several states do not have a state income tax. So these states will not show up in certain drop down lists. Leave boxes 15, 16, and 17 blank when you enter a W-2 for these states.

Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming
