It doesn't seem to take out SS income on state forms? How do you do that?

Which state are you in?

You may be in a state the does tax your social security benefits.  If TurboTax is not removing the SS income from your state return, you are likely in a state that taxes Social Security benefits.

Or do you have any taxable amount of ss on your federal line 6b?  Maybe there's no taxable amount to subtract.

SC now and that seems to have an adjustment.  But came from WI and it doesn't.

Thanks

Thanks, moved from WI to SC.  SC seems to be OK and is adjusting however WI doesn't.

TurboTax is correctly adjusting the Wisconsin income tax return for nontaxable Social Security. The part-year Wisconsin return has two columns — a federal column for all income and a WI column for WI income. Social Security is not part of WI income.

Check out line 14 of Form 1NPR.

However, the WI tax rate is based on total federal income multiplied by the percentage of WI income which is why you will see the federal number on Form 1NPR.

NOTE: Many WI forms are not final, including Form 1NPR, which is expected to be finalized on January 27. See: Wisconsin Individual Form Availability
