When filling out my Federal Taxes using Turbo Tax, I am entering my Wages & Income, entering my 1099R information. When I get to the questions after the information is entered, it asks; 'Where does this distribution come from?'. I click on the radio button for 'New York State and City Education', being a member of the New York State Teacher's Retirement System, but it automatically switches to 'US Government'. How do I get it to stay on the proper selection?

The default setting on that screen is US Government so every time you go back through it will change back to the default. It's perfectly okay because the only point of this selection is to determine if your income is taxable in NY and neither your choice nor US government pensions are taxable in NY.
