Is the roth 401k entered in the roth ira section?- when the amt is entered there it tells me the contribution is too large and there is a penaltyy

No, you don't.

 

Employers report your contributions in boxes 1 and 12, respectively, of your form W-2. While your contributions aren't subject to federal withholding, they are subject to withholding for Social Security and Medicare taxes.

A 401(k) is not an IRA.
