Turbo Tax won't allow me to deduct my ira contribution of $7,000 because somehow it has determined that my husband has a retirement plan at work.  He is self-employed, 72 yrs old and has a SEP that he no longer contributes to but does take the mandatory distributions.  How do I fix this in Turbo Tax?

You may have a Keogh/SEP worksheet in your program that was carried over from a previous year. If you delete it, it may result in your husband's business not being considered as having a retirement plan. You can see if the worksheet is in your program by using these menu tabs in TurboTax if working in the online program:

  1. Tax tools (on the left menu bar)
  2. Tools
  3. Delete a form

Find the Keough/SEP Wks in the list and delete the form.
