IRA Rollover - 60 day rule

I withdrew $xxx from my IRA and repaid the same amount within 60 days, however it was in two different tax years, 2024 and 2025.  How do I correct my IRA distribution amount to reflect the repayment of $xxx in 2024 Turbo Tax?  Right now my income is overstated by $xxx.

IRA Rollover - 60 day rule

There is a question after the 1099-R entry that asks about the rollover.  (See below)  Please remember the one rollover per year rule: You generally cannot make more than one rollover from the same IRA within a 1-year period. You also cannot make a rollover during this 1-year period from the IRA to which the distribution was rolled over.  (See Rollovers of retirement plan and IRA distributions).

IRA Rollover - 60 day rule

The fact that the rollover occurred after the end of 2024 is irrelevant to how your report the distribution and rollover on your tax return.  Enter the rollover into TurboTax as described by MaryK4.  The only requirements are that the rollover met the 60-day rollover deadline and was not a violation of the one-rollover-per-12-months limitation.

However, if TurboTax asks for your year-end value in traditional IRAs and asks if you had any outstanding rollovers, you would enter the amount of this rollover in the box for outstanding rollovers.
