Im a contractor (1099) and filing married - jointly for the first time. After completing everything, I am not getting prompted to enter my wifes information?

Your wife's income and deduction information would be entered in the same sections where your income was entered.  If she has a W-2, you would select to "Add another W-2" form and be sure to mark that the W-2 form is for her.  See the sample screenshot below.  There isn't a separate section for each of you as all income and deduction/credit information is combined. 

Below are steps to be brought back to the W-2 entry section:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Using the search feature in the upper right, search for w-2 and select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. If you've already added a W-2 to your return, you'll reach a screen where you can add, edit, or delete a W-2 as necessary. Select Add another W-2.
